Two pictures from the range at Blackwater this week.

Taking professional maturity to a whole new level

Yeah I know… it’s cheezy

Today was our last day of the shooting course at Blackwater. Having gone through courses a lot longer than one week dealing with tactics, weapons handling, etc this course was very informative and I learned a ton. Our crew (and better crew) ended up with the best instructor we could have asked for (Fuckin’ Pete aside, but that’s a long story). The mere taste of dealing with weapons as much as we did this week (once again) made me miss the old job so much. However, the whole week made me quite happy, taught me a lot of lessons, and made me feel at home in the environment I love… you know… guns, dirt, foul mouths, shit talking your friend’s shooting skills, and tons of ammo.

Next week a select few of us are headed to container climbing class. As far as I know it’s rigging up line and working repelling equipment to inspect cargo containers underway on a ship… sweet!

I think Joe and I are headed out to the hockey game tonight to watch the home team get their ass kicked by the visiting Portland Pirates. C’mon… you know I have to go with the Pacific NW team… GO PIRATES!!! Not quite sure where the rest of the evening will lead us, but it will undoubtedly end up with drinking beer.

After a day of tactical shotgun, cleaning weapons, and getting everyone’s weapons familiarization paperwork done it’s time for a well deserved shower and weekend off.
