Here I am

The other day I decided to delete my myspace account. For as much as I write I was really looking for a more mature/formal blogging spot, not to be hassled by showing off friends, or saying “happy birthday” in people’s comment section. A person said the other week that blogs are just an avenue to brag, but I couldn’t disagree more. What I didn’t think about as I left myspace was the years of blogging I had done on the site and how it all was deleted in an instant. After I realized this I immediately became sick to my stomach and felt quite upset with myself. Back to what that person said about blogs, they can be (for some) a little plaything for people to show off or whatever else. Blogging to me is documenting what you certainly wouldn’t be able to remember 5 years from now, it’s a healthy coping mechanizim, and I just plain love to write.

So here begins a new set of documentation, a new adventure, and hopefully an enjoyable one at that. With a year deployment to The Kingdom of Bahrain starting this summer, I have absolute confidence that I will be glad I decided to start up a blog again.

I will now refrain from using the word “blog” as much as I can from here on in.
